Sinharaja Rain Forest is one of the few untouched forests left in the world. This evergreen rain forest, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a rare example of a natural rain forest. It is a damp and mysterious place full of life, representing the last large area of untouched rain forest on the island. Covering just over 11,000 hectares, it stretches along the southern edge of the hill country in the wet zone. Its incredible variety of plants and animals makes it one of the most biodiverse places in the world. More than 130 bird species live here, including many of the 33 species that are unique to Sri Lanka. The forest also has a rich population of reptiles and countless types of insects, many of which have not yet been identified. You can spot mammals like the purple-faced langur monkey and the giant squirrel here. The best way to explore Sinharaja is on foot, which gives you a real jungle experience.

The tour includes a walk through the Sinharaja Rain Forest, a visit to waterfalls and riversides, bird-watching trails, and a stroll through tea plantations. It's also a great place to enjoy nature and take a swim.

 

 

 

  Sinharaja Forest Reserve Tour


We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Sinharaja, which is about 80 kilometers from Galle city. Once we arrive, you’ll meet your wildlife tracker at the main gate of the rainforest. He will guide you through the forest, showing you different animals you might see along the way.

The forest is home to many types of plants and animals. You could spot monkeys, snakes, chameleons, a variety of birds, and many tropical trees, plants, and flowers. There’s also a beautiful waterfall where you can enjoy a nature bath and swim.

We will provide you with bottled drinking water and lunch, which you can eat in the forest while enjoying the lovely views. After a wonderful day of exploring, we will take you back to your hotel.
